More information about us
As a church we only came into existence this century - 1st January 2000, when four separate Methodist churches came together into one new group, occupying the premises of one of them - in Third Avenue, Gillingham. But the intention was to consolidate in order to expand. We embarked on a half-a-million pound modernisation and development scheme so that the 70year old buildings are able to offer greatly improved facilities for community purposes. This has now come to fruition. The changes have taken into account the current requirements for disabled access.
Already our premises are extensively used by various organisations, including Uniformed Scouts, Guides, etc, and a Pre-School Group, Dancing School, Drama Groups, a Chinese fellowship, and so on. But we have ample scope for hosting other group activities, or to be, quite simply, a place to meet.
We want to encourage groups involving young people, and those in retirement, as well as any in between, to make the most of what we can now provide.
However, we can offer a service to the business community also, by providing a venue suitable for conferences, awaydays, or off-site training. We have rooms of various sizes depending upon your requirements; the main church hall has audio/visual facilities to suit most needs.
Of course we are also a Christian church. We have acts of worship on Sundays, and groups meeting for prayer and bible study during the week, to which all are welcome.
